PRIVACY POLICY

FaceGuard Privacy Policy

Effective date: 19 August 2026

FaceGuard is published by Syns Digital. This policy explains what information FaceGuard processes, where it is stored, and the choices available to you.

1. On-device face processing

FaceGuard uses your camera to detect and compare faces for browser-page protection. Reference face samples, face descriptors, camera images and recognition results are processed and stored locally on your device. Syns Digital does not upload these face samples, camera images or face descriptors to its servers.

2. Account and licence information

When you access a FaceGuard account, our authentication and licensing provider, Supabase, processes your email address, authentication records, account identifier, trial dates and subscription licence status. This information is required for sign-in, trial access and paid licence verification.

3. Payments

Subscriptions and payment details are processed by Stripe. Syns Digital does not receive or store your full card number. Stripe may process contact, billing, payment and transaction information according to its own privacy policy.

4. Browser permissions

FaceGuard requests permissions needed to operate its single purpose, including local storage, tab coordination, scripting on supported webpages, camera processing through an extension-controlled context, and access to ordinary webpage hosts. FaceGuard does not protect Chrome internal pages and cannot prevent its own removal.

5. How information is used

  • Provide owner recognition and page locking.
  • Authenticate your account and manage your seven-day trial.
  • Verify subscription status and provide billing support.
  • Diagnose security, reliability or support issues when you contact us.

We do not sell personal information, use it for advertising, determine creditworthiness, or use it for purposes unrelated to FaceGuard.

6. Retention and deletion

Local FaceGuard data remains on your device until you replace it, clear extension storage or uninstall the extension. Account and licence records are retained while needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes and prevent abuse. You may request account deletion by contacting us.

7. Security

FaceGuard stores the emergency password as a salted cryptographic hash. We use reasonable safeguards for account and licence information, but no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

8. Your choices

You may turn protection off, remove local face samples by clearing extension data or uninstalling FaceGuard, sign out, manage your subscription through Stripe, or request access to or deletion of account information.

9. Contact

Questions or privacy requests may be sent to [email protected].

10. Changes

We may update this policy when FaceGuard or applicable requirements change. The effective date above will be revised when material changes are published.
